Launch of new Hangar Repeater Solution - Investors

Enables indoor avionics testing of Inmarsat, Iridium and GPS Satellite signals

Global Invacom, the global provider of satellite communications equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of an innovative solution enabling aircraft ground engineers to undertake 24/7 avionics testing of Inmarsat, Iridium and GPS satellite signals indoors.

The Hangar Repeater Solution (‘the Solution’), developed in-house by Foxcom, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Invacom, enables engineers involved in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft to undertake testing 24/7 regardless of the weather and without having to move aircraft in and out of a hangar, as is the current practice.

Inmarsat and Iridium satellite equipment has been generally limited to outdoor use, as building structures block satellite signals. However, Foxcom’s unique repeater technology enables communication inside buildings or underground without the need for a direct line of sight to the sky. Furthermore, existing Foxcom repeaters can be easily upgraded to add Inmarsat compatibility.

The Solution therefore greatly reduces aircraft-on-ground time, man-hours and overall maintenance costs, thereby providing a rapid return on investment for customers. This latest solution builds upon the successful range of repeaters first launched by Foxcom in 2013.

Beyond the aviation sector, GPS, Inmarsat and Iridium repeaters can be deployed across a range of locations and industries, such as underground civil defence and military bunkers, oil rigs and ships, and large buildings.

Tony Taylor, Executive Chairman of Global Invacom, commented:

“We’re delighted to announce the launch of this unique testing solution, which is an excellent example of our ongoing commitment, innovation and investment.

As a business, we are always looking to provide our partners with industry leading devices that both simplify the running of their business but more importantly save them time and money — something that the Hangar Repeater Solution clearly does.”
