FAQs – SMATV
My SMC controller does not appear to control my Panasonic DSB50 digibox.

The Panasonic DSB5 was not compatible with SMC unit’s produced prior to March 2004. Units after this date will function correctly with the new Panasonic Model’s.

My SMC stops counting down after power is restored following a power failure.

In some situations, when power is restored, large amounts of low frequency noise is generated from fans, motors etc. This noise can be picked up by the SMC through its unused ports and stop count down. This issue can be resolved by performing the following operation with a SKY Remote Control on the SMC.

• Remove dc jack from SMC and then plug back into unit. This will start the count-down operation. Wait until you see the ‘Press SKY to Start’ screen.
• Press SKY button
• Select ‘more[1]>’
• Select ‘more[2]>’
• Select ‘Advanced’
• Select ‘ModIRin’
• Select ‘No’
• Select ‘TTLIRin’
• Select ‘No’
• Finish by pressing the Backup button to return to the first menu.

You can then test the system by simulating a power failure condition and ensuring the SMC will count down after restoring the power.

I have lost my SKY Sports channels.

From March 2005 the four SKY Sports channels will no longer be available on EPG No’s 041,042,043,044.
You will need to re-program your SMC to the following dependant on which SKY Sports channels you subscribe to.
SKY Sports 1 751
SKY Sports 2 752
SKY Sports 3 753
SKY Sports Extra 754

The SMC does not control my PACE 2600 digibox.

The new Pace 2600 digibox requires the RF2 power to be switched on in order that the SMC can control the unit.
