Malcolm Burrell
Technical Director

Based at the companies Althorne facility, Malcolm was appointed Technical Manager of R&D for Global Communications in 1998.  Heading a team of 9 Engineers he has been responsible for the development of most of the products that put Global Communications in a world leading position in RF switches. 

Malcolm has also been responsible for the development of products that have taken the company into new product areas such as video distribution systems, remote satellite audio reception products and fiber distribution.

Dave Smith
Technical Director

One of the founders of Invacom in 2000, Dave came from a Marconi/Grundig background developing many LNBs throughout the 90s including the world’s first Universal Single and Universal Twin.  Prior to this he developed radios for various mobile phone standards and worked at a Cambridge Consultancy. 

At Invacom, Dave as Technical Director headed up the R&D department developing a number of innovative, high performance LNBs considered to be the industry standard still today including Quad, Twin, Quatro, Single and the world’s first commercial LNB capable of receiving circular and linear polarisations simultaneously.
